Overview
The IBM IoT Exchange 2019 was a premier event designed to showcase the transformative potential of IoT, bringing together industry experts, innovators, and thought leaders. This multi-channel marketing campaign highlighted the event’s content, including keynote sessions, product demos, and hands-on experiences across connected devices, AI, and cloud solutions. As the UI/Visual Designer, I created a cohesive, engaging multi-channel experience through paid media, social, email, event registration, and the IBM IoT Exchange landing page, emphasizing IBM’s brand and IoT expertise.
Challenges
To make the IBM IoT Exchange 2019 a successful event, the campaign had to overcome several challenges:
•Consistency Across Channels
• Multiple language translations
•Encourage kids to not only watch videos but also
participate
•Positioning IBM as a leader in IoT through compelling
visuals and messaging
Approach
IBM's marketing strategy for promoting IoT Exchange involves an integrated, multi-channel approach that leverages paid media, email marketing, and the website to maximize event awareness, engagement, and attendee registration.
Solution
For the IBM IoT Exchange 2019, I used IBM's Carbon Design System to craft a cohesive and intuitive visual experience across all event touchpoints. Leveraging Carbon’s UI components, I designed an paid media, emailer, and event page assets. Carbon's accessibility guidelines were strictly followed to make the experience inclusive for all. This approach elevated the event's brand consistency, usability, and overall attendee satisfaction.
